Tropical Garden Society of Sydney

At Concord and on Zoom
Speaker: Professor Michelle Leishman will discuss 'Facilitating nature-rich urban green spaces for the future'.
Our urban green spaces provide a wide range of services, from improving air and water quality, to providing cooling from extreme heat, improving people's health outcomes, and providing habitat for biodiversity. Yet these critical urban green spaces are increasingly threatened by urbanisation and climate change. This talk looks at how we can make our urban green spaces more resilient and bring nature back into our cities.
Professor Leishman is Distinguished Professor of Biology and Director of the Smart Green Cities Research centre at Macquarie University
