Speaker: Photographer Glenn Smith will give a talk about his project, a complete photographic record of the living collection of flora in the Australian Botanic Gardens at Mount Annan
Glenn is a photographer who shoots the three Fs: Fungi, Flora and Fauna, mainly in the Australian Botanic Gardens, Mount Annan. With just under four thousand native species to get, this will be a long term project with approximately eighteen shots of each species required.
He started to shoot from around the age of ten, back in the days when there was no auto anything, and certainly no digital. He developed black and white film in his mother’s laundry at night with his father. Photographing now for over 46 years, and starting to get a little more serious about it in the last nine years, Glenn won the NSW Canon Light awards Photography competition in 2018 with a shot of a stuffed toy dog (Gnasher) playing chess with an Alien. Glenn has run the photography workshops at Mount Annan Botanic Gardens since 2016 and spends pretty much every Saturday out and about in the gardens photographing his three Fs He's easy to find - just look for the guy under the hat.
